ABOUT ME
I am a theatre director and arts administrator based in Los Angeles on Tongva land. Currently, you can find me at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival where I am the 2025 Phil Killian Directing Fellow.
I use she/they pronouns and identify as mixed-race (Japanese-American and European-American).
I am passionate about theatrical, non-naturalistic, poetic storytelling that builds community, bridges difference, and imagines a hopeful future. I was Associate Artistic Director at Boston Court Pasadena from 2020-2025, and will be returning to Boston Court as Literary Manager beginning in Fall 2025.
My recent directing projects include Hamlet at Ensemble Theatre Company Santa Barbara, Kentucky for the Pomona College Theater Department, and the world premiere of Unrivaled by Rosie Narasaki with Boston Court and Playwrights' Arena. I have also directed workshops and staged readings of new plays for Playwrights Union, EST/LA, the Road Theatre, Occidental College's New Play Festival, SkyPilot, UCLA TFT, and Actor's Circle Ensemble. I have assistant directed on shows at Pasadena Playhouse, The Geffen Playhouse, and the Getty Villa among others.
I specialize in new play dramaturgy and have contributed to the development of plays by playwrights like Lisa Dring, Eliana Pipes, May Treuhaft-Ali, John Anthony Loffredo, Jennie Webb, Jacqueline Wright, Alison Minami, Carolyn Ratteray, Aaron Posner, and Rosie Narasaki.
My artistic producing work includes supporting four seasons of music concerts and theater productions at Boston Court Pasadena, and three seasons of classical theater as Executive Director at Method & Madness Theatre Company.
In my previous life I was a scenic designer for theatre and worked as an Art Dept PA for Blumhouse's horror anthology Into the Dark.
